Yvonne Barham-Plummer

Yvonne has always found people fascinating; self-discovery exhilarating; releasing clients’ potential incredibly rewarding; and she’s rejuvenated by learning. She simply LOVES her work!  Yvonne has been fortunate enough to have worked in learning-related roles for most her 20+ year career.

Initially she worked as a Technical Author writing technical reference manuals and the associated training materials.  From there, Yvonne moved into more traditional Training and Development roles, including many years within Unilever UK where she co-managed the T&D programme to build the professional expertise of the 320-strong Sales & Marketing team.

In 2007, Yvonne set up Results Through YBP.  She now freelances as a Trainer, Business Coach and Team-bulider. Her client base spans both the private sector (with companies such as Unilever, J&J and Mars Foods) and the public sector (with organisations like the DWP, the OFT,  the UK Border Agency and the Cabinet Office).  Just a few of the many projects that she's undertaken include:

• designing & delivering an 18-month Leadership Journey programme for a blue-chip organisation;
• delivering CMI-accredited and ILM-accredited Leadership & Development training for various public sector organisations;
• undertaking TKI Conflict Management coaching sessions for high-level professionals;
• supporting Team Leaders and their respective teams through significant organisation change;
• coaching high-flyers in preparation for promotion to very senior leadership roles;
• undertaking Myers Briggs (MBTI) profiling across the whole one of the UK's sector skills councils;
• teaching careers to 11-18 year olds.

Through structured questioning techniques, Yvonne diagnoses situations very carefully before recommending routes forward.  From her vast experience in the training world, Yvonne can then draw on a whole host of learning models, theories, techniques and approaches, in order to find creative and effective learning solutions to support her clients achieve their most challenging business goals.

Yvonne believes that people learn more thoroughly by ENJOYING any learning intervention. Her style is therefore highly practical, fairly informal, upbeat and always focused on clients' strengths, positive attributes and potential. She often uses a "tough love" approach to inspire clients to act upon their learnings and GET RESULTS.
